Somatic Tracking for Fatigue
Somatic tracking is the practice of bringing calm, curious, nonjudgmental attention to physical sensations while reinforcing the message that they are safe. Rather than trying to suppress, analyze, or eliminate the sensation, the person observes how it feels and how it changes, helping the brain replace fear and danger with safety and curiosity.
Fatigue is a real physical experience, and it can have many different causes. In conditions such as Long COVID and ME/CFS, people may experience profound exhaustion, heaviness, brain fog, dizziness, and worsening symptoms after exertion. For some people, the nervous system can also become sensitized, so ordinary bodily sensations begin to carry more threat, attention, and fear, potentially amplifying the experience of fatigue.
A neuroplastic approach does not mean the symptoms are imagined, or that all chronic fatigue is “just stress.” It means that learned brain-body patterns may sometimes be part of the picture. Practices like somatic tracking are designed to help you experience sensations with less fear, urgency, and monitoring, and with more curiosity and safety.
